What a battery in the recorder actually buys you
Power cuts are the most common time for trouble. Twenty minutes of backup changes more than you might think.
Intruders know that a power cut can blind a cheap system. A small UPS in every recorder keeps cameras, recording and alerts running through the gap.
How long is enough
Most cuts are short. Twenty to forty minutes covers the vast majority of them. For remote sites or strict insurers we size the battery for an hour or more.
The console logs every switch
When the mains go, the recorder reports it. You see when the cut started, how long the battery held and when power came back, without anyone checking by hand.
